Are you a candidate for Dry Needling?
The healing practice Dry Needling is not acupuncture, although the same solid filiform needles are used. Dry Needling is the insertion of very small needles (without the injection of a medication or fluid, hence the description “dry”) into taut, tender muscular bands to break the cycle of pain. By inserting needles into these myofascial trigger points oversensitized muscular contractions/spasms can be desensitized and normal function restored. Dry needling is shown to decrease overall sensitivity in fibromyalgia, tension-type and migraine headaches, and lateral epicondylalgia (tennis elbow). It is also effective in decreasing pain and increasing range of motion in whiplash, low back pain, and tempomandibular (TMJ). If you are suffering from painful “knots” in your neck, shoulders, or back please reach out to us at Leu Family Chiropractic to schedule an appointment to see Dr. Leu - one of just a few qualified Dry Needling professionals in the area.
